After a long weekend of final editing, Monica and I finished the movie. We spent most of Saturday working on it and had everything but the sound effects. You would think that sound effects would be easy to get, but no! The search for sound effects (especially a “baby cry” sound effect) was the final touch on the film that wouldn’t let go. Sunday, I finally found it at Vintage Vinyl only to drive all the way out to Lake St. Louis to discover that VV had put the wrong SF volume disc in my case! We tried crying “waaa!!” into the computer speaker and manipulating the sound in Garage Band, but that really sounded fake. But in the end, we got our baby-cry sound effect in, and the movie is done. I’ll be turning it in to KDHX today (and a good thing because today is the deadline). So I’ll keep you posted on the upcoming screenings and showings of the film as well as a possible upload to U-Tube.
